Illustration Friday- Myth

The theme for Illustration Friday this week is Myth.

It was fun to create this little fairy.

I grew up in a family where many brownies and fairies

lived under the leaves of the succulents in our California backyard.

My father often told us stories or read from his books 

about their adventures.

He created in each of his children a love of enchanted creatures.

Everything was alive to us and had sweet personalities

such as our dolls who spoke to us from our fathers voice

each night before we went to sleep.

My own children grew up expecting all their dollies to talk to them too.

I am so grateful for a father who loved his children

enough to create wonder and delight in their lives.
